Xalud Supports Study of XT-101 in Pet Dogs with Osteoarthritis

June 24, 2013, Daily Camera – A study targeting effective treatment of chronic pain in dogs involving a University of Colorado researcher and a Lafayette veterinarian is being expanded, and if your pet has joint disease — including arthritis — it could be included.

And the animal’s treatment will be free.

Previously, the study — which employs a gene therapy using the protein and anti-inflammatory interleukin-10, or IL-10 — was focused on treating pain in dogs’ spines. Now, the focus on joints is expected to open the study to a larger pool of potential participants.
